Introducing A New WIN: Forged By Us All

Say hello to a new era for WIN.

March marks Women’s History Month, but also marks the fourth anniversary of WIN: Women in Innovation.

For four years, you have come to know us as the only professional, innovation-oriented, women-centric organization that is so much more than networking: we focus on action-oriented programming, community building, and tangible tools and resources. Because it is our mission to close the gender gap in innovation.

You have inspired us to get up from our seats, team up with people we’ve never met before, and challenge the status quo in topics ranging from artificial intelligence to innovating for the greater good.

You have enabled us to grow from a small group of women in New York to 4,000+ members in major innovation hubs including London and San Francisco, with more to come. You have co-created 200+ hours of action-packed innovation training with us. 100+ of you have participated in our peer mentorship programs. And 84% of you tell us that you’ve been introduced to an interesting person or an interesting opportunity through the WIN community.

You have worked with us to create the conditions for women, and those who identify as women, to design and define better futures for us all.

Over the past four years, you all have helped us realize that our brand could and should embody all of this and more.

That’s why on this special International Women’s Day, we are proud and excited to share our new brand identity with you.

What is most special about this brand is that it was truly forged by us all, and a perfect example of what makes this community what it is: a beautiful collaboration across different agencies, consultancies, geographies, and backgrounds, all working in pursuit of our mission. So thank you to the teams at Character, R/GA, Decode_M, Congress Design Co., Thinking Hats, and our freelance community. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Without further ado: our new brand.

Our inspiration came from the idea of a “forged path.” Because the path to a more equitable future is ours to forge, together.

Our new brand reflects the idea that we know that talking isn’t the same as making a real impact, so we created a system that allows us to showcase how we’re busy doing the work.

Our new brand illuminates the work of innovative women. Our fonts are designed by women: Ania Kruk and Erin McLaughlin. Our yellow color palette is symbolic of the early suffrage movement (and is also a nod to an innovator’s weapon of choice: the post-it).

More than anything, our new brand goes beyond a logo update: it’s a new call to action. To join us as we forge better futures for us all. Isn’t that what innovation is all about?

Huge shout out to the entire team of multi-disciplinary collaborators that have helped make this work a possibility - now and in the near future. A true embodiment of our name, WIN, which means “to obtain by work.” We are endlessly grateful.
