SHIREEN IDROOS

Board Director | Development Committee Chair
Strategic Fundraising Consultant

Shireen Idroos is a nonprofit leader and fundraising strategist focused on creating meaningful
impact through philanthropy. She has worked across healthcare, legal advocacy, workforce development, and social innovation, aligning bold fundraising strategies with missions that
support communities impacted by poverty, racism, and gender-based violence.

Shireen began her fundraising career at the Children’s Health Fund, developing the mid-level and
major donor portfolios, and played a key role in a landmark $105 million capacity-building
campaign. She went on to build the first individual giving and major gifts program at Her Justice,
where she also expanded board engagement and grew a high-performing Junior Advisory Board.

As Executive Director of the Centre for Social Innovation, she launched an annual flagship
fundraising event showcasing the innovative solutions of the community’s talented social
entrepreneurs, and led with clarity and care through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic,
ultimately overseeing the board-led and difficult decision to close the organization.

Most recently, she served as Senior Director of Individual Giving at Jobs for the Future, where she
designed a $60M capacity-building campaign that helped secure transformational gifts, and
developed fundraising strategies for economic equity initiatives.

Shireen is skilled at mobilizing individuals to generate funding and expand donor communities,
helping organizations build the sustained support needed to scale their impact. She leads with
empathy, humility, and strategic insight, and is guided by the belief that lasting, transformative
change happens when people work together toward a shared vision.
