Maria Potoroczyn is Co-Founder of WIN: Women in Innovation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with an international mandate and a mission to close the gender gap in innovation. Under her leadership, WIN grew its community from 20 to 3,000 members, expanded the team from 3 to 35, and established a presence in San Francisco and London chapters. In her role as Co-Founder, Potoroczyn created a global playbook for WIN operations and led the definition and creation of the original WIN brand identity and principles. Potoroczyn now serves on the Board of Directors.
Potoroczyn is VP of Strategy and Innovation at Citibank’s Global Consumer Bank, driving mission-critical initiatives in designing the future of financial services. Potoroczyn is passionate about fintech innovation and she prides herself at doing work that has a positive impact on consumers experience, while generating top line growth.
Potoroczyn is a former innovation consultant working at premier innovation consultancies (Fahrenheit 212, SY Partners, Firstborn, amongst others). Potoroczyn has built a strong track record of launching breakthrough products and services that catalyze top-line growth. Prior to her time in New York, Potoroczyn worked in executive training and organizational design in London and Scandinavia. Throughout her consulting career, Potoroczyn has prided herself at advising executive teams at Fortune 500, private equity portfolio companies, and nonprofits on how to effectively bring more humanity into business.
Potoroczyn is a frequent speaker, co-author and workshop leader at industry conferences, including Fast Company Innovation Festival, NYC X DESIGN, and SXSW. She has guest lectured at Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, New York University, and Parsons The New School.
Potoroczyn holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology, media and communications from Goldsmiths College and a master’s degree with distinction in innovation management from Central Saint Martins.
Potoroczyn resides in New York City with her husband and two daughters.
