Programming Feature: Cards for Humanity

Who: WIN London X Idean

What: Cards for Humanity

When: February 23rd 2021

After a year of planning, in late February WIN LDN had the privilege of partnering with the incredible global design studio Idean in an interactive workshop on the power of inclusive thinking.

We are now more connected than ever. With the rise of digital, we have the opportunity to create truly global products and services that everyone can access, use and enjoy. What is vital for a few is valuable for many, so what does it mean to design inclusively, and how can we make this a reality?

During the workshop, WIN attendees had the opportunity to use, solve and experiment together with Idean’s renowned Cards for Humanity, a practical tool to help you design more inclusively. An eye-opening approach to innovation, engaging with Idean’s inclusive design tools enabled new perspectives to emerge and added greater depth and texture to how we think about our users and their experiences of the world.

With these newfound insights and approaches, we then turned to our own organizations. Inspired by Idean’s Universal Score, a new evaluation framework that assesses how inclusive ideas are, together attendees shared their own plans and pitches to introduce and implement more inclusive design methods into day-to-day work.

A special thank you to the Idean team, Valeria Adani, Katie Wyburd, Charlotte Fereday, and Charlie Wileman, for such an insightful and inspiring event! We are also grateful for our WIN attendees’ honesty, openness, and attentiveness and delighted to see them bring inclusive design forwards with them into their organizations and work.

Inspired and energized by the event, we encourage our attendees to share their thoughts and actions by continuing the conversation on the WIN Hub.
