Maeva Coste, Ph.D., is a scientist and entrepreneur working at the intersection of chemistry, biomolecular engineering, and innovation.
Originally from France, Maeva holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Montpellier. She then pursued postdoctoral research at the Advanced Science Research Center at the City University of New York (CUNY), where she later became a Research Associate. Her research has focused on polymers, self-assembling peptides, biomolecular materials, and nature-inspired solutions for biotechnology and healthcare.
Maeva is the Co-Founder and CEO of BioWraptor, a pre-seed biotechnology company developing a biomimetic peptide platform to stabilize biological products and reduce their dependence on refrigeration. The technology has potential applications across research tools, diagnostics, therapeutics, and other areas where biomolecule stability is critical.
Beyond BioWraptor, Maeva has experience in academic research, technology translation, consulting, and entrepreneurship. She is passionate about turning science into practical solutions with meaningful societal impact and making healthcare technologies more accessible.
Her entrepreneurial journey has included programs such as Activate, NSF I-Corps, the Ray of Hope Accelerator, BioTools Innovator Accelerator, and the NYCEDC Founder Fellowship with Newlab. Through these experiences, she continues to learn how to bridge science, entrepreneurship, and meaningful impact.
