For the final event in our Ethics & Inclusion programming series, WIN LDN had the privilege of partnering with world-renowned consultancy, The Future Laboratory to reimagine what the future of intersectionality could look like as we embrace new ways to live, learn and work.

In the past year, individuals and organizations alike have begun to re-evaluate what it means to create more equitable, diverse, and inclusive experiences for their communities. Despite initial momentum, in the long term, we know that meaningful change is no guarantee. It’ll require a radical reimagining of our DE&I journeys and the personal and organizational strategies we need to make that happen.

So, what exactly could diversity and inclusion look like in the workplace of the future?

Led by Futures Director, Victoria Buchanan, WIN attendees engaged in a three-part discussion on inclusivity and belonging, putting intersectionality right at the center.

An established futures consultancy, The Future Laboratory, is an expert in reimagining better futures for global businesses and communities. And that includes their own organization too. Guided by their Diversity Coaches, Victoria shared how The Future Laboratory is reimagining the future of their business through a DE&I lens, outlining their learnings and long-term diversity strategy.

From internal reflection to outward observation, The Future Laboratory is used to engaging their expertise in strategy, cultural insight, and forecasting to harness the ‘what’s next?’. Event attendees were given a glimpse of just that as Victoria guided the group through the fundamental principles or trends set to shape the future of diversity and inclusion and shone a spotlight on those trail blazers leading the way.

But how can we make the first steps on our own DE&I journeys?

Race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, and so many more. Every experience is different. In a final workshop activity, attendees were given the opportunity to identify and reflect on their intersectional advantages before aligning as allies to pay it forward by committing to bringing better ways of working to their individual and collective spaces.

A huge thank you to Victoria Buchanan for her inspiration, insight, and guidance through a truly eye-opening session.

We hope to see you again soon at our next event!
